Sony 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Telephoto Zoom Lens

Of the photos I have taken over the years, I have likely taken more with this lens than any other, though I am quickly catching up with my Tamron. On an APS-C camera, this lens gives you the approximate equivalence of 75-300mm of focal length, which is a great range for a telephoto lens. The aperture, like the 16-50mm zoom, is not super fast. In low light you will need to be able to take longer photos off a tripod, increase your ISO, or simply add light with a flash. In bright light, this lens provides good, clean photos throughout the focal range making it a good lens for someone just starting out who cannot afford a higher end zoom telephoto. This lens, along with the 16-50mm kit lens, served me well for family photos, comic conventions, and trips around the country for quite a few years until I decided to get more serious about photography.
