Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Telephoto Zoom Lens

The Tamron 18-300mm is a fantastic and versatile lens. Since I bought it I have taken over 10,000 photos with it; without a doubt the most cost effective lens in my collection. On a Sony APS-C camera this lens reaches all the way out to the full-frame equivalent of 450mm. The aperture is not particularly fast at f/3.5-6.3, however, if it were faster it would be much more expensive. As a bonus, it has a magnification ratio of 1:2 with a minimum focus distance of 5.9 inches, which makes it is very usable for near-macro photography. This is, hands down, my go-to lens; if I am not actively deciding to use a different lens for a specific reason, I use this one, it is that versatile. That said, low light still demands a faster lens when shooting long tripod shots is not an option. All-in-all, this is a must have if you want a versatile lens for your APS-C Sony camera, and will soon be available for Cannon and Nikon as well.
